A new website is in the works! I hope to have it available in mid-May 2024. In the mean time, some of the information on this page may be out of date. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes. As always, consult an attorney if you have legal questions, and feel free to contact me via the "general contact" form if you have any questions.

My name is Edward Thomas, Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Virginia, but you can call me Ed.  Born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, a 2000 graduate of Brookville High School, I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University.

I became interested in the notary process when I started my first job at a local realty company.  While most teenagers get their first jobs as cashiers, lifeguards, or stocking shelves, I was learning the ins and outs of life as a realtor.  While real estate wasn’t the career for me, my interest in notaries continued during my time in the healthcare field.  It was while working for a local hospital system that I first noticed how people may not always need a notary, but when they do, they rarely know where to find one!

Finally, after years of contemplation, I decided to study-up on the notarial laws and become a notary public.  This is not a source of income for me, nor is this my full-time job.  In fact, between application and renewal fees, court fees, costs of supplies, getting my seals and stamps, as well as paying errors & omissions insurance, this is something that costs me money I will probably never recoup.  However, this is something that I truly enjoy doing.  It’s more of a hobby for me, while also giving me the opportunity to serve this Commonwealth that I love and the people who live and work within it.

I am not a lawyer.  I’m not a banker.  I’m not a realtor.  I’m just your average t-shirt and jeans citizen of the Commonwealth of Virginia who is happy to serve his fellow citizens in this capacity.
